Bo Webb

Director of Racquet Sports

Bo Webb started playing tennis when he was 15 years old and became a top ranked junior tennis player in the southern region which led him to a scholarship to Mars Hill College. After college, Webb became a certified tennis professional with USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry) and USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association). Currently has been ranked as the number one doubles player in the southern section of the USTA Men’s Open and Men’s 35s Divisions. Over the years he has served two tenures as a managing partner and director of tennis at the Asheville Racquet Club. He also ran The Laurel Ridge Country Club for two years while directing the National Junior Tennis Leagues in Western North Carolina. Webb spent 11 years with his family in the Richmond, Virginia as the Director of tennis at The Brandermill Country Club where he led a team of investors in the expansion of the largest outdoor tennis facility in Richmond. This new facility included 26 outdoors and a new 4 court indoor tennis complex. Webb has coached USTA national championship teams as well as many top ranked juniors that went on to earn collegiate scholarships moreover a handful of players that went on to a professional career.

Coach Russell

Director of Pickleball

Coach Russell, a 36 year employee with the Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation Department-Tampa, Florida has been involved in Pickleball since 2009. He was first introduced to the game by officiating matches at the Tampa Bay Senior Games.This sparked a fire and soon after he began playing, officiating and developing Pickleball programs in the Tampa Bay & Sarasota areas.

As a past USTA Tennis Professional, he gave free pickleball lessons and clinics to beginners and advanced players as well as hosting sanctioned and non-sanctioned tournaments since 2015. Coach Russell offered the very first Pickleball “Boot” Camp in America in 2016 and has been organizing them ever since.

Coach Russell is an accomplished player participating in the USAPA National Tournament, World Huntsman Games, and the US Open where he has metaled in each. He recently played in Germany and played for the USA Team for the Bainbridge Cup. Coach Russell is a Level II IPTPA Professional and also a IFP Certified Pro. He loves to share his wisdom and knowledge from relationships with Pro’s and tournament players to make you a better player as well.

Coach Russell recently accepted the position of Director of Pickleball at the new Creekside Racquet Club in beautiful Black Mountain, NC just outside of Asheville in May-2019.

Scott McCormick

Director of Junior Development and Social Director

Scott played his junior tennis in Cincinnati Ohio and went on to play at Miami University of Ohio and The College of Wooster in northern Ohio. He was a NCAC all-conference selection and two time team captain along with earning a B.A. in sociology. A certified USPTA instructor, he has taught thousands of players of all levels and ages in his 20+ years in the industry. Most recently Scott was the Director of Tennis at The Country Club of Petersburg in Virginia. In addition to coaching high school teams and tennis as a college elective course, he has offered his services at exclusive resorts such as Kiawah Island, Fripp Island, The Mauna Lani and Waikoloa Hilton Resorts in Hawaii and Sun Valley Resort in Idaho. Scott comes to Black Mountain with the hopes of spreading his enthusiasm and love for the game to Creekside Racquet Club and the surrounding community.
